Job Summary

The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler I - QIT is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all maintenance activities within the project. The role ensures efficient use of resources, effective coordination between operations, equipment readiness, materials availability, and labor allocation while maintaining compliance with safety, health, and environmental (SHE) requirements.

Main Functions

  • Plan and schedule all routine and complex maintenance work efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with SHE standards, work selection criteria, procurement practices, and project controls.
  • Develop detailed job plans including resources, materials, timelines, and milestones.
  • Coordinate with execution leads and operations teams across all disciplines.
  • Monitor critical and sub-critical paths for major events and turnaround windows.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts including negative float, out-of-sequence updates, scope changes, and resource overloads.
  • Provide input to maintenance contracting and procurement strategies.
  • Educate field personnel on schedules and ensure timely work progression.
  • Assess contingencies and coordinate team actions to mitigate schedule impacts.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry in a related role.
  • Proven experience in planning and scheduling, maintenance coordination, and capital projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant planning/scheduling software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey recommendations to management.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, handle heavy workloads, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide work teams, remove barriers, and ensure deliverables meet cost and schedule targets.
