Job Summary
The HEMM Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery, including Dumpers, Excavators, and Drillers. The role supports production activities by ensuring equipment is properly operated, maintained, and aligned with safety and operational standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate assigned heavy earth moving equipment safely and efficiently in line with company policies.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and routine maintenance checks.
- Perform pre-operational checks, including cleaning, lubrication, and refilling of equipment.
- Ensure all heavy machinery is safely parked and securely stored after use.
- Participate in routine maintenance of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery.
- Report equipment faults and recommend repairs to the Shift Coordinator.
- Comply strictly with workplace safety rules and procedures.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the Shift Engineer.
Requirements
- Trade Test certificate or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience operating heavy equipment.
- Ability to operate machinery safely and responsibly.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Basic data gathering and analytical skills.
- Problem-solving and creative thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in basic office productivity tools.
- Valid Class H Driver’s License.
