Dangote Industries Limited is seeking a highly experienced Plant Manager – Mines Operations to coordinate and control mining activities at the Ibese Plant. The successful candidate will ensure mining operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in a cost-effective manner while meeting production and quality targets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the activities of heavy equipment operators, drillers, blasters, and other mining personnel.
- Ensure implementation and achievement of short-term production plans and targets.
- Coordinate preparation and strict adherence to mine plans and schedules.
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate with technical teams, other departments, and contractors.
- Develop and maintain life-of-mine plans with inputs from all operations and ensure effective implementation.
- Ensure raw material tonnage and quality requirements for the plant are consistently met.
- Prevent negative impacts on mining equipment utilization and availability.
- Collaborate with the Head, Mines to set production quotas and plan extraction sites.
- Monitor operational performance against budget and recommend improvements when required.
- Ensure full compliance with safety, health, environmental laws, and internal standards.
- Resolve operational challenges and recommend productivity improvement measures.
- Prepare production and operational reports for review by the Head, Mines.
- Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate engineers, technicians, operators, and other mine personnel.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering (Mining, Civil, Production) or a related discipline.
- Minimum of fourteen (14) years relevant experience in mining operations.
Skills and Competencies
- In-depth understanding of mining principles and operational best practices.
- Strong personnel management and leadership skills.
- Excellent investigative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong business acumen for cost-effective mining operations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and people management skills.

- Proficiency in office productivity and reporting tools.
