Job Summary
Dangote Industries Limited is recruiting a qualified Laboratory Assistant to support quality control activities at the Ibese Plant. The role involves assisting in laboratory testing, sample preparation, equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the analysis of raw materials, intermediate, and finished product samples.
- Collect samples in accordance with the approved quality control plan.
- Carry out preliminary preparation of samples for X-ray analysis.
- Perform sieve analysis and moisture content testing of samples.
- Prepare slides and conduct microscopic observations.
- Ensure proper cleaning of sample collection points.
- Assist in managing inventory of laboratory chemicals, glassware, and consumables.
- Promptly escalate deviations from quality standards to the supervising Technologist.
- Recommend and support improvements in laboratory operations and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure effective housekeeping and safety practices within the laboratory.
- Support the maintenance of ISO quality management systems.
- Assist in preparing periodic laboratory analysis and activity reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head, Quality Control & Assurance or supervising officers.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
- National Diploma (ND) in Laboratory Technology or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of five (5) years relevant laboratory experience.
Skills and Competencies
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Sound knowledge of laboratory terminology and equipment.
- Ability to handle samples and operate laboratory instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
