Job Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of company premises, employees, visitors, and assets. This role involves enforcing security procedures, monitoring surveillance systems, conducting routine patrols, and responding swiftly to security incidents to ensure a secure working environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Enforce company security policies, access control measures, and safety procedures.
- Monitor CCTV systems, alarm panels, and other surveillance equipment.
- Conduct regular patrols within and around company premises.
- Prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other security breaches.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, and reported incidents.
- Document and report all security observations, incidents, and irregular activities.
- Assist in investigations related to accidents, security breaches, or safety incidents.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and emergency response protocols.
- Support management in enforcing disciplinary, ethical, and security standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or equivalent qualification.
- At least ten (10) years’ experience at officer level or twenty (20) years at supervisory level in industrial or corporate security operations.
- Strong knowledge of security procedures, safety practices, and access control systems.
- Hands-on experience with CCTV, alarm systems, and surveillance technology.
- Excellent observation, communication, and incident reporting skills.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively during emergencies.
