Editorial: Strategic Advice for Finance Managers

In a conglomerate as large as Sahara Group, Intercompany Reconciliation is often the biggest hurdle during audit season. Recruiters will be looking for a manager who can demonstrate a zero error mindset when managing transactions between subsidiaries across different continents. In your interview, be prepared to discuss your experience with complex ERP systems and how you have used data to drive cost saving initiatives.

Given the board level reporting requirement, your ability to simplify complex financial data into actionable insights is crucial. Highlighting your leadership in mentoring junior staff will also show that you are a team player who can build a sustainable finance function. This is a role for a "polished" professional who understands both the technical and strategic sides of the energy business.
