Role Overview

The Electrical Manager for the Power Plant is the custodian of all electrical assets within the designated area. Your primary mission is to eliminate machinery breakdown through meticulous preventive maintenance and expert troubleshooting. You will provide high-level engineering expertise for critical components like generators and AVRs, while also managing the procurement of essential spares. This role demands a mix of technical brilliance and administrative discipline to maintain equipment history and ensure the safety of all maintenance personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Oversight: Provide specialized electrical engineering expertise for transformers, generators, motors, relays, and cables.
• Maintenance Planning: Devise and implement rigorous Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules for all critical equipment based on OEM recommendations.
• Team Leadership: Assign work orders to skilled maintenance staff and direct them in resolving complex or difficult electrical issues.
• Inspections & Compliance: Regularly inspect electrical systems to identify hazards or defects and ensure full compliance with engineering codes.
• Resource Management: Handle procurement actions for necessary spares and equipment while maintaining accurate records of equipment history.
• Safety & Discipline: Prioritize personnel health and safety, ensuring excellent housekeeping and the continuous skill enhancement of your subordinates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
• A minimum of fifteen (15) years of work experience, specifically within a Gas Turbine-based power plant.
• Deep understanding of electrical maintenance, generators, transformers, AVRs, compressors, and modern electrical systems.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and think out of the box.
• Proven ability to motivate a team and enforce discipline in a high pressure industrial environment.
