Job Summary
The Legal & Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that Greenwood Limited operates in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. The role also covers company secretarial responsibilities, including corporate governance support, regulatory filings, and board documentation.
The successful candidate will provide legal advisory services on contracts, investments, and business agreements while working closely with internal teams to manage legal risks and promote a culture of compliance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Develop, review, and implement compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Provide legal guidance and advisory support on contracts, investments, partnerships, and agreements.
- Manage regulatory filings, statutory reporting, and correspondence with regulatory bodies.
- Oversee company secretarial duties, including preparation of board meeting agendas, minutes, and resolutions.
- Support corporate governance processes and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify, assess, and manage legal and compliance risks.
- Conduct compliance audits and reviews to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Organize and deliver compliance training and awareness programs for staff.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations and advise management on their impact on business operations.
Educational Qualifications & Experience
- LLB or equivalent degree in Law.
- Professional legal or compliance certification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in legal and/or compliance roles.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and corporate governance requirements.
- Previous experience in investment, financial services, or consulting environments is an advantage.
