Registrar Vacancy at Yobe State University

Yobe State University, located in Damaturu, Yobe State, Nigeria, was established following a recommendation by the committee on educational development in the State. The sub-committee on higher education emphasized the need for a university in the state.

In response to the National Universities Commission's (NUC) encouragement for state and private organizations to establish viable universities, and considering the growing demand for university education in the state, the government of Yobe State, led by Governor Bukar Abba Ibrahim, established Bukar Abba Ibrahim University. A planning committee, chaired by Professor Muhammad Nur Alkali, was formed in January 2007 to oversee the university's setup.

Job Title: Registrar 

Location: Damaturu, Yobe 

The Office:

The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer, responsible for day-to-day general administration, and Secretary to the Governing Council, Senate, Convocation, and Congregation.

Responsibilities:

• Provide professional leadership to administrative staff
• Ensure efficient and effective administrative performance
• Train and develop administrative staff

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University
• IT proficiency and current deployment
• Member of relevant professional bodies (NIM, IPMN, ANUPA, CIA, AMN)
• Higher degrees in relevant subjects (added advantage)

Experience:

• 10+ years post-qualification experience in university administration
• Deputy Registrar in a recognized University (5+ years)

Age: Not older than 60 years

• Team player with good leadership qualities
• Sound judgment, pleasant disposition, and proven integrity

Tenure: Single term of 5 years
