Role Overview

The successful candidate will manage the day to day accounting operations of the business. Your goal is to provide timely financial insights that support cash flow management and cost control. You will be responsible for everything from recording daily sales to ensuring that the company remains on the good side of the law through timely statutory remittances. This role is perfect for a young professional who understands that numbers tell a story about business profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Transactions: Record all daily sales and expenses, post payment vouchers, and keep cash books updated.
• Reconciliation: Perform weekly bank account reconciliations and prepare monthly statements.
• Payroll & Tax: Process payroll and ensure that PAYE, VAT, WHT, and other statutory obligations are remitted on time.
• Inventory & COGS: Track the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) by product category and maintain accurate inventory valuation records.
• Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts and cash flow summaries by the 5th working day of every month.
• Performance Analysis: Generate monthly margin reports to highlight top-performing products and give recommendations.
• Financial Support: Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and preparing documentation for internal and external audits.

Qualifications

• Education: HND or B.Sc in Accounting or a related financial field.
• Experience: 1 - 2 years of practical accounting experience. Experience in a retail or food business is a massive advantage.
• Certification: Being a part-qualified ICAN or ACCA student is an added advantage.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory. You should also know your way around software like Zoho, QuickBooks, or Sage.
• Mindset: You must have a commercial mindset and the ability to interpret numbers for business growth.
• Location: Must reside within Surulere or very close immediate environs.
