Editorial: Career Insight for Instructional Designers

In 2026, a Curriculum Specialist in the African tech and business space must think like a Product Manager. It is no longer enough to have theoretical depth, the curriculum must solve a specific pain point for the employer and the student. With a Ph.D. requirement, AIBT is looking for someone who can combine deep academic rigor with the speed and agility of a modern tech institute.

When applying, we recommend showcasing any experience you have with Program Validation or accreditation processes. This is often the heavy lifting in curriculum roles. Additionally, highlight your ability to create Blended Learning paths showing how you balance self paced digital modules with live facilitated sessions. Since this is an Abuja based role, mention your familiarity with Nigerian or regional accreditation standards if applicable. With a deadline of 19 February, 2026, ensure your writing samples or portfolio demonstrate clarity, precision, and a learner first mindset.
