Role Overview
The Student Affairs Officer plays a critical role in enhancing the overall student experience at JHU. You will be responsible for the welfare, engagement, and support services of our postgraduate community. This role requires someone passionate about student development who can foster a positive campus culture while effectively managing academic and non academic concerns. You will be the go to person for student leadership, extracurricular activities, and conflict resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Student Welfare: Coordinate all student services and welfare programmes to ensure a supportive learning environment.
- Management Liaison: Serve as the vital link between the student body and university management.
- Event Coordination: Organise orientation programmes, leadership seminars, and various campus events.
- Guidance & Support: Provide academic and non-academic counseling to students facing challenges.
- Conflict Resolution: Assist in resolving student complaints and managing disciplinary matters with discretion.
- Extracurricular Support: Facilitate and support student clubs, associations, and other campus activities.

Requirements & Competencies
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 4 - 6 years’ experience in student services, counseling support, or administrative roles within a higher education setting.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, empathetic, and approachable nature with excellent conflict-resolution skills.
- Organization: Exceptional organizational abilities and the capacity to manage sensitive information discreetly.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and modern record management systems.
