Detailed Duties & Responsibilities

The Provost serves as the academic, administrative, and professional head of the College. Key responsibilities include:

Chief Executive Leadership:
Act as the Chief Executive and Accounting Officer, providing overall leadership in executing policies laid down by the Governing Council.

Academic Governance:
Serve as the Chairman of the Academic Board, overseeing the curriculum and academic standards of the institution.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must possess a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) from a recognized University in a field relevant to the College’s programmes.
  • Candidates must be from the Colleges of Education sub-sector and must be a Chief Lecturer with at least five (5) years of cognate experience.
  • Mandatory possession of a professional teaching qualification (NCE or PGDE) and active registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
  • Evidence of having held senior teaching/research and top administrative posts in a College of Education, showing the ability to manage human and material resources.
  • A strong track record in result-oriented research with scholarly publications cited in current APA format.
  • Candidates must not be above the age of fifty-nine (59) years at the time of taking up the appointment.
  • Proficiency in ICT packages, high integrity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to avoiding sectional, ethnic, or religious interests.
