Role Overview

As the Planning Engineer for Reliability, you are the detective of the production unit. Your main mission is Failure Analysis and Threat Management. You will be responsible for leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions, training staff on reliability best practices, and using digital dashboards to spot equipment anomalies before they turn into major shutdowns. This role requires a blend of deep technical knowledge and the ability to work with frontline supervisors to prioritize threats and solve complex problems on both onshore and offshore assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Investigations: Support and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA), FMEA, and Causal Learning sessions to investigate equipment failures.
• Staff Mentorship: Train and guide the team on monitoring tools and reliability improvement methodologies.
• Digital Surveillance: Use smart tools like PI Vision and EnhanceX to monitor equipment health in real-time.
• Dashboard Management: Develop and maintain data visualizations to show performance trends and reliability risks.
• Risk Mitigation: Implement Threat Management Plans (TMP) to prevent the recurrence of technical failures.
• Reporting: Provide detailed reliability insights and technical reports for the leadership team.
• Collaboration: Interface with Asset Reliability Engineers and Production Unit Managers to close out identified threats.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Education: A University Degree or HND in any Physical or Pure Science (Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, etc.). A Master’s degree is a big plus.
• Core Experience: Minimum of 5 years in core engineering, with at least 2 years specifically in failure analysis (RCA, 5Ys) and proactive monitoring.
• Tech Skills: High proficiency in Data Analysis using Excel, Power BI, or even Python.
• Professional Stand: Being a valid COREN member or a Trained Causal Learning Level 2 Facilitator will give you a major advantage.
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and excellent communication skills for stakeholder management.
• Physical Requirement: Readiness for regular visits to offshore, swamp, and land locations via helicopter, boat, or land vehicle.
