Job Overview
We are currently inviting applications from qualified and passionate academics for the position of Lecturer II. This role is ideal for individuals who have strong teaching experience, sound academic background in Accounting, and a genuine interest in shaping the next generation of professionals.
As a Lecturer II, you will be responsible for teaching, mentoring, academic research, and contributing to the overall growth and development of the institution. You will also play an active role in maintaining the Polytechnic’s standards of academic excellence and discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver quality lectures and practical sessions in Accounting-related courses.
- Prepare course outlines, lecture notes, and instructional materials in line with NBTE standards.
- Assess students through tests, assignments, projects, and examinations.
- Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.
- Participate in departmental meetings, academic planning, and curriculum development.
- Engage in research, publications, and other scholarly activities.
- Carry out other academic duties as assigned by the Head of Department or Management.
Requirements
Educational Qualifications and Experience
- A good First Degree or HND in Accounting or a related discipline.
- Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) in Accounting.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant teaching or industry experience.
- Membership of relevant professional bodies such as ICAN, ANAN, or equivalent.
- Evidence of at least three (3) creative or scholarly outputs in Accounting.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong teaching, presentation, and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of modern teaching methods and assessment techniques.
- Ability to mentor and inspire students academically and morally.
- Research capability with interest in continuous academic development.
- High level of professionalism, discipline, and commitment to duty.
- Ability to work effectively within an academic team.
