About the Position
The Lawyer – Legal & Executive Assistant role is a dual-function position combining legal responsibilities with executive and administrative support duties. The successful candidate will work closely with management, providing legal drafting, research, and documentation support while also assisting with executive coordination, reporting, and task management.
This is a hands-on role designed for a lawyer who is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with minimal supervision. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys learning, taking ownership of tasks, and contributing across multiple functional areas, including property transactions, legal compliance, and executive operations.
The role also provides a strong foundation for long-term career growth, offering exposure to real estate investments, corporate legal work, and strategic business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Duties
- Draft, review, and structure legal documents, agreements, contracts, and professional correspondence.
- Conduct legal research on property, corporate, and investment-related matters.
- Prepare legal briefs, memoranda, summaries, and supporting documentation.
- Support compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
Executive & Administrative Support
- Provide executive assistance, including preparation of reports, follow-ups, and task tracking.
- Manage schedules, meetings, correspondence, and action points efficiently.
- Assist with documentation management and record-keeping.
- Coordinate communications between internal teams and external stakeholders.
Operational & Investment Support
- Support property-related and investment transactions as required.
- Identify operational gaps, risks, and areas requiring legal or administrative attention.
- Take initiative in improving processes and ensuring timely execution of tasks.
Requirements and Qualifications
- LL.B and B.L. degrees with qualification to practice law in Nigeria.
- Minimum of 1 year post-call experience.
- Minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1) at both University and Law School.
- Strong legal drafting and writing skills with excellent grammar and structure.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Strong organisational, communication, and time-management skills.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and reliability.
- Willingness to learn quickly, adapt, and grow within the role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and general document management tools.
