Job Description
The Chemical Engineer will monitor various sections of the production line from the Central Control Room (CCR), ensuring operational precision, safety, and compliance. The role requires coordination with operators, patrollers, and engineers to maintain equipment stability, troubleshoot issues, and meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor production line operations from the Central Control Room to ensure adherence to standards.
- Provide guidance to patrollers and operators based on monitored operations.
- Assist in implementing Dangote Industries Limited’s approved production processes.
- Control all plant process lines to ensure stable equipment operation, employee safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Log process data at specified intervals and prepare operational reports.
- Provide feedback and guidance to shift coordinators, engineers, patrollers, and operators for smooth operations of crushers, mills, kilns, and cement mills.
- Identify failures or potential issues, offering solutions to resolve operational problems.
- Continuously review plant automation systems and recommend improvements.
- Prepare detailed, clear, and concise reports on operational activities.
- Supervise casual staff to ensure conveyors are clean and free from jamming.
- Ensure production targets for cement and clinker are met during respective shifts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Section Head or HOD.
Requirements
- BSc in Chemical and Processing Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years working experience in a relevant position.
