About the CNG Rigger Cum Helper Role
The CNG Rigger Cum Helper position is a practical, field-based role that supports the installation, maintenance, and safe operation of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) systems. In this role, you as an Applicant must note that you will work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other technical personnel to ensure that CNG pipelines, compressors, and lifting operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
This position suits candidates who are technically inclined, physically fit, and comfortable working with tools, heavy equipment, and high-pressure systems. Attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to follow instructions are essential for success in this role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the assembly and installation of CNG pipeline systems in line with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Support rigging and lifting operations using cranes, hoists, slings, and other lifting equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and basic tests on pipeline systems to ensure safety, stability, and operational readiness.
- Work closely with engineers and project supervisors to review job plans and suggest practical improvements when necessary.
- Carry out maintenance and minor repair work on existing CNG pipeline installations and related equipment.
- Use hand tools and power tools for cutting, threading, aligning, and joining pipes and fittings.
- Strictly follow safety rules and procedures, especially when working with high-pressure gas systems.
- Ensure proper handling and positioning of materials during lifting and installation activities.
- Document daily work activities and promptly report faults, defects, or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Participate in safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions as required.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by staying updated on modern rigging and CNG installation practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- B.Eng, HND, ND, or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Valid Rigger Certification (Lifting & Rigging) is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years relevant experience in rigging and lifting operations within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience working with cranes, hoists, slings, shackles, and heavy-duty equipment.
- Basic understanding of CNG systems, pipelines, or industrial gas installations is an added advantage.
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions and safety guidelines.
- Good physical fitness and willingness to work in demanding site conditions.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and safety-conscious mindset.
