About the Role
As a Utility Controller, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing maintenance activities for all utility equipment in the plant. Your goal will be to ensure that assets are reliable, available, and operating efficiently at all times. You will work closely with maintenance teams, engineers, spare parts stores, and other internal stakeholders to reduce downtime, control maintenance costs, and improve overall plant performance.
This role requires strong technical knowledge, good leadership skills, and the ability to use maintenance systems like SAP PM effectively. You will also play a key role in developing your team, improving preventive maintenance practices, and ensuring compliance with Coca-Cola HBC and The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the execution of planned and scheduled maintenance activities for all utility equipment at the plant.
- Ensure maintenance tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and at the lowest possible cost.
- Plan, track, and monitor maintenance requirements and costs in line with approved maintenance budgets.
- Supervise and guide technical personnel to improve their skills and knowledge of utility equipment.
- Work with Maintenance Subject Experts (MSE) and Maintenance Planners (MPs) to organize and execute annual overhauls of utilities and facilities.
- Improve asset efficiency by strengthening preventive maintenance programs and reducing breakdown frequency.
- Monitor Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and take corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
- Follow up with spare parts storekeepers to ensure optimal availability of spare parts and maintenance materials.
- Ensure there are no production outages due to lack of spares or maintenance materials.
- Maintain effective systems that support product quality and packaging standards in line with CCH and TCCC requirements.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with team members, peers, internal customers, suppliers, and external institutions.
- Implement performance management systems to ensure team members deliver expected results.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) standards.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum of 3–5 years relevant technical experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of utilities operations and maintenance practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Good working knowledge and effective use of SAP ERP / SAP PM systems.
- Solid understanding of plant QHSE standards, rules, and codes.
- Ability to prepare and interpret business cases and cost-benefit analysis.
- Good maintenance and reliability engineering skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing policies, procedures, and systems.
- Basic to intermediate project management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good understanding of Coca-Cola HBC and TCCC systems, policies, and operational standards.
