Key Responsibilities
- Inspect properties to ensure health and safety compliance, with emphasis on fire prevention and emergency readiness.
- Protect personnel during emergencies by extinguishing fires, carrying out rescue operations, and mitigating chemical spills.
- Prevent fire damage through regular surveys and inspections to identify hazards and enforce safety codes.
- Develop and conduct fire safety education and training programmes for personnel.
- Ensure availability of water at fire scenes by testing hydrants, requesting repairs, and verifying completion.
- Respond promptly to fire alarms by driving and operating firefighting equipment.
- Regulate water pressure, combat and extinguish fires, and rescue or revive affected personnel.
- Ensure firefighting equipment remains operational by carrying out preventive maintenance.
Requirements
- OND, High School Diploma, or its equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.
- Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
- Proficiency in first aid and CPR techniques.
- Strong physical fitness and ability to perform under emergency conditions.
