About the Position
The Deputy Manager, Packing Plant is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all maintenance activities within the packing plant. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, ensuring equipment reliability, maintaining safety standards, and supporting production targets through effective maintenance strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate all packing plant maintenance activities to prevent operational disruptions.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the plant’s maintenance plan.
- Oversee the effective execution of maintenance activities at the packing plant unit.
- Plan and order packing plant machine spares in a timely manner based on operational requirements.
- Supervise engineers to ensure equipment availability with minimal downtime.
- Ensure packing plant equipment meets pre-set production targets.
- Liaise with HSE personnel to ensure availability of PPE and delivery of safety training.
- Ensure routine and corrective maintenance is carried out efficiently and on schedule.
- Coordinate and manage a comprehensive database of all maintenance activities.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Head, Packing Plant.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent.
- Professional certification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 15 years relevant work experience.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment accurately and efficiently.
- Good leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail.
