About the Position

The Civil Construction Business Lead will be responsible for overseeing and managing the civil construction business unit of the Group. The role involves strategic planning, business development, and the execution of civil and infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, buildings, and water treatment facilities. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage large-scale civil and infrastructure projects, ensuring quality, budget control, and timely delivery.
• Drive business opportunities within the civil construction unit and ensure successful project closures.
• Oversee the overall management and smooth operation of the civil construction business.
• Develop and implement designs for infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, buildings, and water systems.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop junior engineers, technicians, and construction personnel.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, consultants, and government agencies to meet project requirements.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure safety and minimize delays.
• Provide technical guidance and expert input on complex engineering challenges.
• Ensure strict compliance with quality standards, industry codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Create and manage project schedules to meet milestones and deadlines.
• Prepare and submit detailed reports on project progress, challenges, and outcomes.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years post-qualification relevant work experience, with at least five (5) years in a leadership role.
• Membership of relevant professional bodies such as COREN, NSE, or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with reputable construction companies or project-based organizations.
• Project Management Certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Highly detail-oriented, resourceful, patient, and decisive.
